Mobile computing solution for warehouse
Background
Due to the application features of the warehouses for physical distribution, the operation sites are distributed everywhere. Some are located in doors, and the others out doors. Thus, it is inconvenient to install networks or devices. Moreover, the RFID data needs be gathered, stored, calculated, or even encoded through the intelligent handsets.
Components of solution
I. Basic function
It adopts the long-distance RFID tags and allocates aerials and handsets at the exits and entrances. Thus the functions including the confirmation of putting the goods into warehouse and sending them out of warehouse, warehouse moving, and goods checking can be completed by intelligent handsets.
II. System introduction
1. Components of system
1) Structures of hardware
The hardware system consists of a management system server, a management system workstation, a communication seat of handset, and a RFID handset, a bar code printer as well as a RFID tag. The RFID handset is used for gathering data (supporting the gathering of bar codes and RFID tags), while the communication seat of handset is used for sending the collected data to the management system, whereas the bar code printer for marking the goods numbers.

2) Structures of software
The software structure of the system is composed of a back-end management information system, a front-end hand-hold system, and a communication transmitting system in the middle layer, as well as a printing drive system. The back-end management information system is used for controlling the whole storing system; and the hand-hold system is used for sorting collected data, conversing formats, and implementing the treatment strategy for special businesses; and the communication transmitting system is used for transmitting data from the handset to the back-end management information system and matching the formats; while the printing drive system is for driving the back-end management information system and controlling the bar code printer (if needed).
2. System advantages
1) Better and more precise position management
2) Stronger inventory control
3) Refined management, and higher operation efficiency
4) Innovative warehouse application, and improved business flow and manual operation
